Latest WinSPM version released 18 Feb 2022 (DPS and CCS).

A new upgraded version of WinSPM has been developed in discussion with JEOL. The main improvements are as follows:

General

  • Upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 or 10 (32 or 64bit)
  • Improved handling of non-English keyboards and character sets, e.g. Japanese Kanji
  • Fully compatible with all previous versions of WinSPM

Computer Control Software v7.00

  • Automated operation of the SPM via user defined Macro files
    • Multiple hardware and/or software scans can be performed with great flexibility without an operator present
    • Most SPM parameters can be automated
    • Montage scans (specify 1..20 images in both X&Y directions, overlap, scan order, and montage and scan angle)
    • User defined time delays during Macro execution and after scans.
  • Improved SPS Mapping & SPS scans via a reworked LMC dialog
    • Stable scans are performed in software providing much greater flexibility
    • Mapping sizes from 16x16 to 512x512
    • SPS points from 64 to 4096. Force Curve, Voltage & High Bias scans. Speed improvements
    • Threshold Hit values on up-to two different ADC inputs can be specified to prevent tip crash
    • Threshold values at each scan point will be stored with the image data allowing image displays and analysis based on threshold
    • Cross Sectional image display which combines the Topography, displacement at which a Threshold was hit, and the SPS data into one image display.
  • Option to save partial scans after abort
  • Supports the following framegrabbers that are compatible with Windows 7, 8 and 10
    • dPictAexeon LT PCIe board
    • The Imaging Source PCIe and PCI framegrabbers (e.g. DFG/SV1/PCIe)
    • The Imaging Source USB converter (e.g. DFG/USB2pro)
    • These framegrabbers continue to support the S-Video and Composite NTSC and PAL interfaces used by the video cameras attached to the JEOL SPMs.

Hardware Requirements

  • Windows 7 or 10, 32 or 64 bit. All editions
  • Minimum 1920x1080 graphics recommended
  • Computer Control Software v7.00
    • Desktop PC. Minimum dual core CPU, 4GB RAM. 1 x PCI slot (not PCIe) for Data Translation DT3016 AD/DA board
    • Optional
      • 1 or 2 serial ports for optional Lock in Amplifier and Temperature Controller. The serial ports may be provided by a USB converter cable
      • dPictAexeon LT PCIe framegrabber / The Imaging Source PCIe framegrabbers and USB converters. S-Video and composite, NTSC/PAL
      • Additional PCI/PCIe/USB as appropriate for the optional framegrabber.
  • Data Processing Software v3.00
    • Desktop or Laptop. Minimum 4GB RAM.
  • Fully compatible with JEOL’s TM51524 (FCONT) controller unit

New Subtract Background Dialog

  • All calculation results shown in real time
  • N'th degree 1-D or 2-D polynomial fitting
  • Various 1-D and 2-D fitting algorithms
  • User defined XY window and Z window within which the background fitting routine is applied

New Measure Dialog

  • Real-time calculation of various surface properties
  • Unlimited user defined regions (points, lines, parallelograms, circles and N-sided polygons)
  • Calculations performed in individual regions, with totals
  • User specified colours and annotations for each region
  • Surface profiles can be extracted as a spectrum for further analysis
  • Save data and configuration to disk
  • Print & Save the image, regions and calculations

New Measure & Extract Spectra Dialog (SPS Mapping)

  • Real-time calculation and display of multiple spectra extracted from the SPS Mapping data
  • Unlimited user defined regions (points, lines, parallelograms, circles and N-sided polygons)
  • User specified colours and annotations for each region
  • Calculations such as derivatives and averages in real time
  • All spectra, and averaged spectra, can be extracted separately for further analysis

Multiple Spectra Plot Dialog

  • Real-time display of multiple spectra
  • In->Out and Out->In can be treated separately or together
  • Highly flexible auto/manual X, Y re-scaling of each / some / all spectra for easy display and comparison
  • Specify X and Y markers to compare points on all spectra
  • Export all data to TXT files
  • Print & Save the multiple spectra
