SPMware was founded by Dr Robert Leane who, in conjunction with JEOL (Tokyo) Ltd, has been responsible for the design and development of the WinSPM Computer Control and WinSPM Data Processing Systems that have controlled the entire JEOL range of Scanning Probe Microscopes for over 25 years.

WinSPM performs not only full control of the microscopes and data acquisition, but also a wide range of image processing, spectroscopy and CITS/mapping data processing and analysis functions.
